My memories of you shall never fade I treasure them as naught I’ve held before All time with you for nothing would I trade And yet you leave me only sick and sore. In fall I only stared and blushed from far But then, you said you loved in winter cold And now, in spring, my trusted friend you are But never more—your love I could not hold. You burn me with your touch upon my hair And every time your lips intone my name What I once longed for but would never dare Has now become a singeing, searing flame. For my obsession now I pay the price The fire within my heart transforms to ice.

Thou art the very image of my heart Our souls are matched as two notes of a chord Thy beauty be no less than work of art Yet my simple advance reaps no reward. If to a pristine trumpet you compare Then nothing but a rusty lute am I Your melodies are filled with riffs and flair While mine echo with dissonance so shy. For thee my love hath healed and hath mauled It warms like sweet song drips from high above And as the flame of hell it burns and scalds So goes the lovely torture of your love. I’ve found I can yet love you from afar And open to the truth of what we are.

Don’t you know what you do to me? Don’t you care? Of course you don’t. You have no idea. I was a fool.  An idiot. To think that, just maybe, You fell for me. The girl that no one wants. You could have them all. Any of them. You’re that gorgeous. But you chose her. Don’t you know what she is? Don’t you know what she’ll do to you? Maybe I’m just jealous. Maybe I’m just being stupid. No surprise there. But. Don’t you know what I could do for you? Don’t you know how hard I fell for you? You never did anything for me. And yet. They say love at first sight is a myth.
